[Bible Tales] Newsletter – Joseph: maps

Welcome to another Bible Tales Newsletter which is another one that provides some pictorial content instead.

These graphics come from the book "Joseph, Rachel's son" which is planned for release on 4 December 2018.

Map of Mesopotamia

The first map is a map of Mesopotamia that was derived from a map by Yiyi of the Middle East with a CC BY 3.0 licence.

This map gives an overview of the areas in which Joseph spent his life.

The first six years were spent in Paddan-aram, living with Laban, the father of Leah and Rachel.

From the ages of six to seventeen, Joseph lived in Canaan, and the remaining 93 years he spent in Egypt.

Note that this map is also available in SVG and in a variety of higher resolutions in PNG format. If you would like to have any of these, please let me know by replying to this email. This form of the map was designed for printing in a black and white book, however there are also more colourful options including terrain shading. Once again, if you want any of these, please let me know. The map in all its forms is licensed under CC BY 3.0 in the same way as the map it was derived from.

Map of Canaan

Although Joseph only spent about 11 years in Canaan, we are told of several places where the family stayed during that time. Many of these are shown in the map of Canaan below.

This map was based on a map of Israel and its borders from 1949 to 1967 which is in the public domain.

Note that this map is also available in SVG and in a variety of higher resolutions in PNG format. If you would like to have any of these, please let me know by replying to this email. Other colour options that include altitude information are also available. This map in all its forms is released into the public domain.

Terror on Every Side! Volume 5

The last in the series on the life of Jeremiah the prophet is currently being written.

As with the previous volumes, Volume 5 – No Remedy will be released in stages, with a 16-week eBook serial planned to start in less than two weeks on Monday, 3 December 2018.

In November last year, I took part in NaNoWriMo and this book is the result.

A thorough family tree and the two useful maps above have been included in the book. This delayed the release, but have added extra value to the book. Full availability is now planned for Tuesday, 4 December 2018.
